Michael Kirkby

About the Author:

Michael Kirkby is a contributor to the Nottingham Hidden History Team (an online digital archive) and is a prolific war historian in the area. He gained a BA Hons History and Museum Management from Nottingham Trent in 2008 and now volunteers with Sherwood Foresters Regimental Museum. In 2010 Michael set up Redcoats & Muskets: Military Historic Learning - an organization that helps communities engage with their local and national military heritage. Michael's main eras of speciality are: The British army between 1700 and 1900; The American War of Independence; The Napoleonic Wars; The Victorian Army (Indian Mutiny, South Africa); American Civil War; First World War.
