About the Author:
David has spent 30 years investigating the archaeological landscapes of Wiltshire and elsewhere in southern England, first for the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England and subsequently English Heritage. Much of that time was spent on major projects recording sites on Salisbury Plain Military Training Area along with all the major Neolithic complexes, Stonehenge, Avebury and Marden. Specialises in Neolithic earthworks, quarries, and stone tools and has worked at all of the Neolithic flint mine sites in England. Also has a special interest in Bronze Age landscapes incorporating barrow cemeteries, field systems and linear ditch complexes.
